Josef Chromy fled his war-torn Czech village in 1950 and spent the next 40 years epitomising entrepreneurship in Tasmania.

His whole range of wines is impressive; this Chardonnay has a complex texture showing ripe citrus flavours, a touch of tropical fruit, and integrated oak. Rich flavours from barrel fermentation but balanced with natural acidity which gives structure and length. Ready to enjoy now but the structure and natural cool climate acidity should enable confident cellaring for at least another 5+ years.
